My interest in accounting started early, although my mom might say it went a little too far. I had a vintage cash register and loved playing grocery store, ringing up pantry items and counting out change with play money. The fun ended when I removed all the labels from the canned goods and replaced them with my own prices, making dinner prep a guessing game. I also spent my youth helping run my family's Christmas tree farm, planting and selling trees and loading them onto customers' cars.The common thread was a love of business, problem-solving, and working with people. Today, those same instincts help me support clients and find practical solutions to complex challenges.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, boating, and I love being creative. You'll find me painting, cooking, or experimenting with homemade wine.

Candace
Co-Founder/MBA/Controller
My interest in accounting started long before I knew what accounting was. At 10, I started “the Happy Helpers” with a best friend. We had a menu of service offerings: wash car, walk dog, clean house, rake leaves. I created customer lists, hand-drawn calendars, and carefully tracked my finances. I owned a cash box in 8th grade and spent the school year raising money to fund year end activities.The common thread was a love of building systems, solving problems, and making things happen. Today, those same instincts help me support clients.
Outside of work, I love making things with my hands, from pottery and bonsai planting to carving chopsticks and painting wooden dolls in classes across Tokyo, Japan.

My interest in accounting started early, even if I didn't realize it at the time. I was the kind of kid who liked things organized, noticed details, and preferred saving money over spending it. One of my favorite gifts was a personal money management system. I spent hours writing checks, balancing my checkbook, and practicing budgeting with my savings while my friends definitely did not see the appeal.The common thread was a love of organization, structure, and making sense of the details. Today, those same instincts help me support clients and bring clarity to complex situations.
Outside of work, one of the most unique parts of my childhood was attending a Japanese immersion school from 1st through 10th grade. My Japanese is a little rusty these days, but it remains a meaningful part of who I am.

Staff Accountant
My path to accounting may have surprised people who knew me as a kid. I was always drawn to English, art, and history, and I loved anything creative. But I was also the kid who noticed every small change, wanted things clean and orderly, and liked knowing exactly where everything belonged. I have always been organized, detail oriented, and very much a rule follower.The common thread was a love of structure, clarity, and doing things the right way. Today, those same instincts help me support clients and keep the details moving in the right direction.
Outside of work, my dad is a retired Blackhawk pilot for the Army, so I grew up living in many different states. After time in the Midwest, East Coast, and South, I chose Texas as home where my parents as well as my siblings all bought houses in the same neighborhood so we all can still be close to one another.
We’re building a different kind of accounting firm.
